We believe the Bible is our manual for life. God, in His word, has revealed a gracious redemptive plan for fallen humanity to be forgiven their sins and enter into an eternal personal saving relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. Eternal life is all about knowing God and Jesus Christ (John 17:3).
We believe our salvation is freely offered to us by God (Ephesians 2:8-9). But it wasn’t cheap. Our salvation cost Jesus the shedding of His precious blood (1 Peter 1:18-19). We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). It is His shed blood that cleanses us from all our sins (1 John 1:7 and 9). The world is lost without Jesus. We want the world to have an opportunity to know Jesus in a saving way. That is our commission; that the world might know Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20; John 17:23).
We believe that just as Jesus came to bear witness to the truth, so should we (John 18:37; 13:15; Romans 8:29; 1 Peter 2:21; 1 John 2:6). That truth is found in God’s word (John 17:17). We should have nothing to do with the evil dark things of this world, but rather expose them (Ephesians 5:11). We should speak truth, but always speak it in the love of Jesus (Ephesians 4:15). The Holy Spirit provides us the love needed to live like Jesus (Romans 5:5).
We believe it is not enough to simply do something for the Lord. What we do for the Lord must be done in a way that is worthy of the Lord. He has given us His best; how can we do anything less? For something to be done in a way that is worthy of the Lord it must be done according to God’s word. What does God’s word tell us about how ministry should be done? The Bible teaches the following attributes of ministry:
- Ministry for the Lord needs to be done led by the Spirit of God – Romans 8:14
- Ministry for the Lord needs to be done for God’s glory – 1 Corinthians 10:31
- Ministry for the Lord needs to be done in an orderly way – 1 Corinthians 14:33, 40
- Ministry for the Lord needs to be done compelled by the sacrificial love of Christ – 2 Corinthians 5:14-16; Mark 10:45; Philippians 2:5-8
- Ministry for the Lord needs to be done to reach the lost for Christ – 2 Corinthians 5:20
- Ministry for the Lord needs to be done to equip, edify and speak the truth in love – Ephesians 4:12-15; 2 Timothy 3:16-17
- Ministry for the Lord needs to be done excellently – Philippians 1:10
- Ministry for the Lord needs to be done prayerfully – Philippians 4:6-7
- Ministry for the Lord needs to be done in the name of Jesus – i.e. the way Jesus would do it – Colossians 3:17
- Ministry for the Lord needs to be done with all our heart – Colossians 3:23-24
- Ministry for the Lord needs to be done “by faith” – Hebrews 11:3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31.
- Ministry for the Lord needs to be done without leaving our first love Jesus – Revelation 2:1-7
This is a what we believe. This is a bit of our heart. We love Jesus. We want the world to know Him and love Him too. That is what we believe.
